Many homeowners are interested in building homes that are not only energy efficient to maintain, but utilize products in the building phase that are considered Green. What does that mean?
In a nutshell, it means:
1. The materials are made from a percentage of natural or recycled elements.
2. Natural materials are harvested in such a manner that they are replaceable in nature (sustainability).
3. The manufacturing processes are environmentally friendly (materials are non-toxic, recycled, non-polluting). Manufacturing processes are efficient and use minimal water and resources.
4. Transportation of materials from origin to consumer is minimized.
5. Materials are non-toxic in their final form, i.e., they do not emit toxic vapors.
